BLOOM

Tel son titre, Bloom est une pièce qui s’est créée à partir de l’idée que chaque chose (phénomène ou être) prend beaucoup de temps pour se développer et atteindre sa florescence. Pièce phare de l’album pour moi, elle a évolué et a été façonnée en concert durant plusieurs années avant d’être cristallisée sur l’album. Elle démontre comment peu à peu, chaque instrument, chaque son prend le temps d’apparaître, en se mêlant tout doucement avec ce qui est déjà en place. Telle une fleur dans son environnement, la juxtaposition des instruments amène la pièce à se développer progressivement jusqu’à atteindre l’épanouissement. Le piano est très intime au départ et plus les cordes font leur apparition, plus le piano s’éloigne, laissant place à un nouveau souffle. Les cordes commencent aussi très intimement, une voix à la fois; pour finalement se terminer dans un arrangement à 8 voix, entremêlé d’une instrumentation riche mettant en valeur le cor français. À la fois intime et grandiose, cette pièce représente bien mon identité musicale et celle de l’album à paraitre.

Like its title, Bloom was created from the idea that everything (phenomenon or being) takes a long time to develop and reach its florescence. A key piece of the album, it evolved and was shaped in concert for several years before being crystallized in the studio. Little by little, each instrument, each sound takes the time to appear, mingling gently with what is already in place. Like a flower in its environment, the juxtaposition of the instruments leads the piece to develop gradually until it reaches full blooming. The piano is very intimate at the beginning and the more the strings make their appearance, the more the piano moves away, leaving room for a new breath. The strings also begin very intimately, one voice at a time; and finally end in an arrangement with 8 voices, intertwined with a rich instrumentation highlighting the French horn. Both intimate and grandiose, this piece represents the musical identity of Simon Leoza and that of the album to be released.
