Live session inspiration

Ólafur Arnalds is one of my favorite Icelandic composer. He has inspired me for more than a decade. Recently, I found myself searching for an original way of presenting/releasing my music. Live sessions always resonated with me since we can feel the “raw” energy of the performers, not the silky mixed-mastered versions of our album’s pieces. Arnalds and his team decided to capture the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, with a performance of some of his pieces from his latest album. I’ve been to Iceland in the winter, and it is a very particular thing. This is very inspiring because it not only showcases his live music, but it connects with the nordic nature and the unique Icelandic culture.
